Airline Merger Talks Heat Up (DAL, NWA, UAUA, CAL)

The Wall Street Journal is reporting after the close that merger talks between Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) and Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA) have picked up steam and a deal could be announced as soon as next week.
The Journal is also reporting that preliminary talks between UAL Corp. (Nasdaq: UAUA) and Continental Airlines Inc. (NYSE: CAL) have grown more serious.
Details of both talks have yet to be worked out and the negotiations could still fall apart.
