Boeing (NYSE: BA) shares are on watch following news that Airbus won't meet a deadline to delivery the first of its new A320neo aircraft by the end of 2015.
Airbus noted technical complexity in the acceptance process for the A320neo.
The WSJ noted that Deutsche Lufthansa AG would take delivery of the first A320neo, which stands for new engine option.
Airbus said delivery is now expected to happen in early 2016, though a specific date wasn't set.
It's expected that the delivery won't have much of an effect on Airbus' financial performance, though it might take a ding in the department of being able to meet obligations on time.
Shares of Boeing are indicated lower.
