Adobe's (ADBE) Brand New Creative Suite Already Pirated

June 20, 2013 11:05 AM EDT
Adobe Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: ADBE) shares are lower on the session after reporting second-quarter 2013 results on Wednesday. But, it might not be results driving today's session.

Several sources have indicated that its new, subscription-only Photoshop CC and other Creative Suite applications have been pirated. After debuting just one day ago.

By comparison, Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Office 365, which offers a subscription-only model as well as full version, hasn't been pirated yet.

Those using the pirated version say that it works just fine, according to CNET. Whether or not Adobe's Creative Suite will still work the same in a month is questionable.

Of course, those using the pirated software will be individuals; corporations wouldn't risk the repercussions of using pirated software for business purposes. That means Adobe is likely to still see upside as more and more adopt to the new subscription model.

Shares are down 1.9 percent Thursday.
