Abercrombie (ANF) Still Going Strong - Barron's

February 25, 2008 9:48 AM EST
Shares of Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (NYSE: ANF) are modestly higher this AM following a positive Barron's piece on the company this weekend.

The article suggests that, while many other retailers are struggling, Abercrombie is still strong with earnings and gross margins rising. The company is projecting slower-than-expected growth of 5%-8% in the first-half, but Barron's said this is perfectly respectable in this environment.

Analyst Richard Jaffe at Stifel Nicolaus sees the stock rising to $100 in the next 12 months, and said the company has been playing "great defense".

Barron's said Abercrombie & Fitch success comes from their ability to sell must-have items at premium prices.
