Does anyone really want a Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) phone?
Less than a month following its debut, AT&T (NYSE: T) has cut the price of the HTC First smartphone from $99.99 to just 99 cents with two-year contract. One spokesperson said that promotional price cuts on devices aren't unusual, but some generally wait longer than a few weeks before making a move.
HTC is the first manufacturer to create a Facebook-themed handset, though Facebook has also created its Home app to run on Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android devices.
Shares of Facebook are off 0.6 percent.
