AIG (AIG) Higher After Government Gives Fannie and Freddie Revised Terms

December 28, 2009 9:55 AM EST
American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) is seeing interest today after the U.S. Treasury removed the funding cap on Fannie Mae (NYSE: FNM) and Freddie Mac (NYSE: FRE).

Not sure what the relationship is here, but because AIG is mostly government owned too we suppose traders feel that if FNM/FRE can get their terms modified so can AIG.

Shares of AIG are up 7% today to $32.20.
