When you check out weather, music, or news on your mobile device, do you use a mobile Internet browser or an app?
Most probably use an app.
According to data from Nielsen, mobile users spend on average 37.5 minutes per day using mobile apps out of a total 56 minutes interacting with the web on their mobile device, amounting to about 67 percent.
Top 10 Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android apps account for 43 percent of all time spent by Android customers on apps, and the top 50 apps account for 61 percent of time spent interacting on the web.
Sources say that users have downloaded an average of 65 to 70 apps.
So, with Android's marketplace boasting more than 250,000 apps, and Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) having comfortable over 500,000, what to do with the remaining 99 percent being unused? Is it still a source of attraction for marketing?
