3D Systems (NYSE: DDD) is getting plenty of investor love Monday following an earlier announcement unveiling its next generation ProJet 3500 HDMax and CPXMax professional series 3D printers.
Key features of the 3500 Max include: patented Multi-Jet Modeling (MJM) print technology, production-grade printhead, advanced material management, full platform high definition printing, tablet-like touchscreen controls, and remote tablet and smartphone connectivity.

Shares of 3D systems are 11.2 percent better on the session with volume of 3.4 million shares more than double the trailing daily average. Shares traded as high as $46.79 today, just 13 cents from a new 52-week high.
