Viking Acquisition Corp completes $230 million IPO on NYSE
Viking Acquisition Corp. I (NYSE: VACI.U) completed its initial public offering of 23 million units at $10.00 per unit, raising $230 million in gross proceeds. The offering included an additional 3 million units sold through the full exercise of the underwriters' over-allotment option.
Each unit consists of one Class A ordinary share and one-third of one redeemable warrant. Each whole warrant allows the holder to purchase one Class A ordinary share at $11.50 per share, subject to certain adjustments.
The units began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "VACI.U" on October 31. The Class A ordinary shares and warrants are expected to trade separately under the symbols "VACI" and "VACI WS" respectively once separate trading begins.
Cohen & Company Capital Markets, a division of Cohen & Company Securities, served as the lead book-running manager for the offering. DLA-Piper LLP represented Viking Acquisition Corp. I, while Ellenoff Grossman & Schole LLP served as legal counsel for Cohen.
Viking Acquisition Corp. I is a special purpose acquisition company formed to pursue a merger, share exchange, asset acquisition, share purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with one or more businesses. The company has not limited its search to a particular industry or geographic region.
The Cayman Islands-based company filed a final prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission describing the offering terms, according to the company's statement.
