Mercator Acquisition Corp. raises $172.5M in Nasdaq IPO
Mercator Acquisition Corp. (Nasdaq: MRCOU) closed its initial public offering of 15,000,000 units at $10.00 per unit, raising $172.5 million in total proceeds, according to a press release. The offering included 2,250,000 units issued through the full exercise of the underwriter's over-allotment option.
The company's units began trading on the Nasdaq Global Market on July 9, 2026, under the symbol "MRCOU." Each unit consists of one Class A ordinary share and one-half of one redeemable warrant. Each whole warrant is exercisable to purchase one Class A ordinary share at $11.50 per share.
Once the units begin separate trading, the Class A ordinary shares and warrants are expected to list on the Nasdaq Global Market under the ticker symbols "MRCO" and "MRCOW," respectively.
Clear Street acted as sole book-running manager for the offering. The SEC declared the related registration statement effective on July 8, 2026.
Mercator Acquisition Corp. is a blank check company formed to pursue a merger or similar business combination. The company states it intends to focus on technology and software infrastructure companies serving financial services, real estate, and asset management sectors. The company is led by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Shawn Matthews, President Shawn Matthews Jr., and Chief Financial Officer Steve Bischoff.
