Portillo's names Brett Patterson as president and CEO

Portillo's Inc. (NASDAQ: PTLO) announced the appointment of Brett Patterson as president and chief executive officer, effective February 23, 2026. Patterson will also join the company's board of directors.



The Chicago-based restaurant chain, known for Italian beef sandwiches and Chicago-style hot dogs, said Patterson brings extensive leadership experience across national restaurant brands with a background in operations and team development.



"Brett has all the right qualities to lead Portillo's into its next chapter of growth," said Michael A. Miles Jr., chairman of the board. "He brings the strategic mindset, operations expertise, and leadership style needed to grow this brand, while preserving what makes Portillo's so special and unique."



In his new role, Patterson will lead the company's overall strategy, focusing on market positioning, new restaurant growth, and operational excellence while continuing to invest in team members and guest experience.

Portillo's operates more than 100 restaurants across 11 states, having grown from a small hot dog trailer in Chicago. The company runs a company-owned model that includes dine-in, drive-thru, takeout and delivery services.
