Green Plains names Chris Osowski as chief executive officer

Green Plains Inc. (NASDAQ: GPRE) appointed Chris Osowski as chief executive officer and board member, effective immediately, the biofuel company announced.
Osowski previously served as executive vice president of operations and technology at Green Plains since January 2022. He has over 20 years of leadership experience in chemical, agribusiness and renewable energy sectors, holding senior positions in the United States, Europe and Asia.
Before joining Green Plains, Osowski worked as vice president of global technology at ADM and held leadership roles at Tate & Lyle, Renewable Energy Group and POET. He holds a bachelor's degree in agricultural and biosystems engineering from North Dakota State University and an MBA from Minnesota State University.
"Chris has the right combination of leadership, operational depth, and industry experience to lead Green Plains into its next chapter," said Jim Anderson, chairman of the board.
The company also promoted Trent Collins to senior vice president of operations. Collins joined Green Plains as vice president of operational excellence in April 2024 and brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in protein and agribusiness sectors. He previously served as senior vice president ingredients operations at Benson Hill and global director proteins technology at ADM.
Anderson expressed gratitude to Michelle Mapes for her service as interim principal executive officer and her continued role as chief legal and administration officer.
Green Plains operates as a biorefining company that produces renewable fuels and sustainable ingredients. The company is deploying carbon capture and storage solutions, with three facilities set to begin carbon capture later this year, according to the press release.
