Mazda CX-60 PHEV Earns 5 Stars from Euro NCAP
The European New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) released their latest crash test results showing Mazda’s new CX-60 Plug-in hybrid scoring a full five stars. The CX-60 is Mazda’s first plug-in hybrid model and is the largest SUV in the manufacturer’s UK range.
Scoring 89% in Euro NCAP’s vulnerable road user tests and 88% and 91% for its ability to protect adults and children, respectively, the CX-60 boasts some impressive safety credentials. The SUV achieved maximum points for crash test performance based on 6- and 10-year-old children, for both frontal and lateral impact. The 88% score for Adult Occupancy is also significant.
Its safety assistance technology scored 76%, with Euro NCAP noting that the ‘gentle’ input of the car’s lane assistance system didn’t always respond well when the car drifted out of lane.
