Pershing Square's Bill Ackman joined Twitter today using the handle @BillAckman1.

The hedge fund manger is known for making big bets and stirring controversy among companies he's involved with. Ackman has had many high-profile wins over the years including General Growth Properties (NYSE: GGP) but his most notable blow up is his recent multi-billion dollar loss in Valeant Pharma (NYSE: VRX).

Current stocks he is involved with include long Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) and short Herbalife (NYSE: HLF), among others.
