Hedge Funds Continue Winning Streak in March
Hedge funds completed their longest winning streak in more than three years, returning 0.2 percent in March, according to the Eurekahedge Hedge Fund Index.
The Index, which tracks more than 2,600 funds worldwide, rose by 1.3 percent this year through March. The funds have had to deal recently with the earthquake and nuclear crisis in Japan.
Eurekahedge Pte. said the index rose for the ninth consecutive month, the longest streak since the 12 months ended July 2007.
The Eurekahedge Japan Hedge Fund Index dropped 0.9 percent in March, which outperformed the Nikkei 225's 8.2 percent drop in the period.
