Dan Loeb is out ruffling Bill Ackman's feathers again Monday.
Today, Dan Loeb's message header on his Bloomberg terminal reads: "Never interfere with an enemy when he is in the process of destroying himself," a quote from Napoleon.
Today's message from Mr. Loeb follows one from him taunting Ackman just a few weeks ago. On July 23, 2013, Loeb's header read: "New HLF product: The Herbalife Enema administered by Uncle Carl."
Once friends, the latest salvos from Loeb suggests there is bad blood between the two hedge fund managers.
With his most recent message to Ackman, Loeb is likely referring to two of Ackman's high-profile trades gone bad - first his short on Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) and now his long in JC Penney (NYSE: JCP).
Last week was brutal for Mr. Ackman in JC Penney. The board of the company, which Ackman is a member of, pushed back on Ackman's calls for a new CEO.
Mr. Ackman, it seems, is one lonely guy on Wall Street these days.
