Zentek Ltd. (NASDAQ: ZTEK) announced plans to commission a new preliminary economic assessment for its Albany Graphite Project and outlined its government engagement strategy across multiple funding programs.

The company intends to mandate an engineering firm to prepare a new PEA reflecting current market conditions and its proprietary fluidized bed reactor purification technology. The previous PEA was completed in 2015 and is not current under NI 43-101 standards.

Zentek also plans to initiate second-year environmental baseline studies at the Albany site, which are required for the Environmental Assessment process and advancement toward a pre-feasibility study.

The Albany Graphite Project has demonstrated nuclear-grade material purity of 99.9992% with equivalent boron concentration of 2.60 ppm through independent laboratory testing conducted with American Energy Technologies Company, as previously disclosed in September 2025.

The company stated it is engaged with multiple government funding programs, including Canada's $2 billion Critical Minerals Sovereign Fund, the Critical Minerals Research, Development and Demonstration Program, and Ontario's $500 million Critical Minerals Processing Fund announced in the 2025 provincial budget.

"Albany sits at the intersection of everything Western governments are prioritizing right now: NATO defence supply chains, nuclear energy, battery materials, and domestic critical minerals production," said CEO Mohammed Jiwan.

In December 2024, NATO released its first list of 12 defence-critical raw materials, which includes graphite. Canada's Defence Industrial Strategy, launched February 17, 2026, established a Defence Investment Agency for defence-related mineral sourcing coordination.

The company targets engagement with the engineering firm for the new PEA in the current fiscal quarter. Zentek operates through its wholly owned subsidiary Albany Graphite Corp., with the deposit located in Northern Ontario.
