Western Union (NYSE: WU) announced financial projections for 2028 during an investor event, targeting revenue of $4.8 billion to $5.3 billion and adjusted earnings per share of $2.15 to $2.45.
The company expects revenue to grow 20% over the next three years to $5 billion at the mid-point of its guidance range. Adjusted earnings per share are projected to increase 30% to $2.30 at the mid-point by 2028.
"Our vision is for Western Union to make financial services accessible to people everywhere," said Devin McGranahan, President and CEO. "Over the past three years, we have evolved to become a digital-first company, enabled by our retail network, serving customers beyond remittance."
Western Union outlined its "Beyond" strategy, which includes expanding its Digital Asset Network and USDPT stablecoin initiatives. The strategy aims to create a global two-sided financial services network that extends beyond traditional remittance services.
The company's Consumer Services division is expected to maintain double-digit revenue growth as part of the broader strategic plan. Western Union's approach focuses on digital-first services while leveraging its existing retail network infrastructure.
The investor presentation took place in New York City and was made available via webcast. Western Union operates money movement and payment services across more than 200 countries and territories, handling transactions in over 130 currencies through bank accounts, digital wallets, and retail locations.
The company noted it cannot provide a quantitative reconciliation of forecasted adjusted earnings per share to GAAP earnings per share due to variability in certain reconciling items including severance costs, acquisition expenses, and tax impacts.
