Ventyx Biosciences Inc. (NASDAQ: VTYX) announced the addition of two advisors and provided updates on its Phase 2 study of VTX2735 for recurrent pericarditis, according to a company statement.
Mark McKenna, founder and CEO of Mirador Therapeutics and former CEO of Prometheus Biosciences, joined as strategic advisor. Peter Libby, a cardiovascular specialist at Mass General Brigham Heart & Vascular Institute and former president of the International Atherosclerosis Society, was added as clinical advisor.
The company delayed the interim analysis of its Phase 2 recurrent pericarditis study to Q1 2026 from previous guidance. Ventyx plans to expand the study into Canada, the European Union and the United Kingdom to evaluate once-daily dose ranging.
"We are also revising our guidance for topline data release from the interim analysis of the Phase 2 RP trial to Q1 2026," said CEO Raju Mohan. "While the timing represents a modest shift from our prior guidance it also provides us with an opportunity to introduce dose-ranging studies with our new once-daily or QD formulation."
The Phase 2 study currently evaluates a 150 mg twice-daily dosing regimen with a primary endpoint at week 6. The company received Health Canada regulatory approval to activate clinical sites by December and initiated regulatory filing processes in the EU and UK.
Ventyx plans to switch to once-daily dosing in December, maintaining the week 6 primary endpoint but extending the study period to 24 weeks. The company will present data at a research and development day scheduled for Q1 2026.
VTX2735 targets the NLRP3 inflammasome, which researchers believe contributes to recurrent pericarditis, a condition involving inflammation of the heart's protective sac.
