VCI Global Limited (NASDAQ: VCIG) reaffirmed its ongoing transaction involving the Oobit ecosystem, with partners targeting completion of the OOB digital treasury infrastructure by the first quarter of 2026, according to a company statement.
The Malaysia-based holding company said the Oobit initiative is being developed as a long-term digital asset treasury and settlement infrastructure designed to support payment, stablecoin settlement, and institutional digital treasury functions.
Upon completion of the OOB digital treasury infrastructure, VCI Global expects to hold approximately 250 million OOB tokens and acquire $50 million worth of additional OOB tokens through secondary-market purchases, subject to market conditions and completion factors. This structure forms part of the company's Digital Asset Treasury strategy.
The Oobit ecosystem includes participation from stablecoin infrastructure providers, including Tether, reflecting an institutional orientation for the digital treasury framework. VCI Global noted the initiative operates as an institutional-grade digital asset framework with established digital asset and stablecoin infrastructure providers.
"We remain fully committed to working closely with VCIG to establish a truly institutional-grade digital asset treasury and settlement infrastructure," said Moshe Schisser, Chairman of Oobit. "This effort reflects a long-term vision to build durable, compliant, and scalable digital asset foundations for the evolving global financial system."
VCI Global describes itself as a diversified holding company focused on digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and financial technologies. The company said it expects to provide updates as the Oobit ecosystem progresses toward implementation milestones.
The reaffirmation comes as part of VCI Global's broader strategy to build digital asset infrastructure rather than pursue isolated token investments, according to the company statement.
