Taoping Inc. (NASDAQ: TAOP) announced it is targeting annual sales of approximately $27 million in 2026 from expanded smart agriculture cooperation between its subsidiary and Mengla County Agricultural Reclamation Group Co., Ltd.
The company plans to increase total planting area to 500 acres from the current 75 acres through its partnership with Mengla County entities in Yunnan Province, China. The expansion involves using drones, artificial intelligence, big data and Internet of Things technologies to enhance production efficiency.
Taoping Yunnan, the company's subsidiary, signed three additional land lease agreements with Mengla to expand its demonstration planting base. The partnership aims to create several thousand flexible jobs as part of the agricultural expansion.
"Our strategic partnership with Mengla has already delivered strong results. With their support in land, policy, and technical resources, our trial vegetable crops in early 2025 achieved excellent production and sales," said Jianghuai Lin, Chairman and CEO of Taoping.
In February 2025, Taoping and the Government of Mengla County announced plans to expand their planting base to 3,500 acres, with projected 2027 annual output valued at $82.5 million. The current announcement represents an intermediate target as the company scales its agricultural operations.
Mengla County is located in southeastern Yunnan Province, bordering Laos, and serves as a trade hub between China and Laos. The region's economy is driven by tourism, agriculture including tea and rubber plantations, and cross-border trade.
Taoping provides smart cloud platform services and solutions, leveraging technology for communication and marketing solutions in both private and public sectors.
