TJX Companies, Inc. (TJX) Announces September Same-Store Sales Up 2%

The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TJX) today reported sales for the five-week period ended October 6, 2007, were $1.8 billion, up 5% over the $1.7 billion achieved during the five-week period ended October 7, 2006. Comparable store sales for the five-week period ended October 6, 2007, increased 2 percent over last year. Carol Meyrowitz, President and CEO of TJX Companies, Inc., stated, "Our consolidated comparable store sales increase of 2% was in line with expectations and achieved on top of last year's September performance, which was one of the strongest in the Company's history. We remain comfortable with our previously anticipated third quarter earnings per share range from continuing operations of $0.53 to $0.55."
