Sound Group launches SoundSphereAI platform, reports 47% revenue growth

Sound Group Inc. (NASDAQ: SOGP) launched its SoundSphereAI platform in January, integrating speech recognition, speech synthesis, and AI voice-changing technologies. The Singapore-based audio company reported a 47% year-over-year revenue increase in the first half of 2025 and returned to profitability.

The company announced these developments in a shareholder letter from Founder and CEO Marco Lai. Sound Group has evolved from an audio content community founded in 2013 to what it describes as an AI-powered audio company focused on voice applications.

The company's AI application business began generating revenue in the first half of 2025, offering products for meeting transcription and real-time translation. Sound Group has expanded this business globally, leveraging its audio technology expertise developed over several years.

In October 2025, the company updated its mission to become "the world's leading AI-powered audio company, helping people connect better and live happier." The company redesigned its official website to present its business structure and technology capabilities more clearly.

Sound Group operates two main business segments: an online audio ecosystem and AI applications. The company uses AI to enhance content creation, product operations, and user acquisition within its audio platform. For its AI business, the company focuses on high-frequency usage scenarios and product refinement based on user feedback.

The company returned value to shareholders through share repurchases and cash dividends while investing in voice-related technologies including automatic speech recognition and text-to-speech capabilities. Sound Group has been listed on Nasdaq since January 2020.

Lai stated the company will continue developing voice AI applications and expanding globally with what he termed a "technology, product, and data" growth approach.
