Smurfit Westrock sets $7 billion EBITDA target by 2030

Smurfit Westrock plc (NYSE: SW) announced financial targets for 2026-2030 during an investor update, setting an adjusted EBITDA goal of approximately $7 billion by 2030.
The packaging company outlined several five-year targets, including an adjusted EBITDA compound annual growth rate of approximately 7% over 2026-2030 and adjusted EBITDA margin expansion of approximately 300 basis points during the same period. The company projects cumulative discretionary free cash flow of approximately $14 billion over 2026-2030, excluding $4 billion in growth capital expenditures.
Smurfit Westrock expects discretionary free cash flow to grow at a compound annual growth rate of approximately 17% over 2026-2030. The company maintains a long-term net debt to EBITDA target of below 2.0x.
The plan includes capital return initiatives to shareholders, with the company maintaining a progressive dividend policy targeting dividends of approximately $5 billion between 2026-2030. Share buyback capacity is planned from 2027.
The medium-term plan assumes market growth of 1.6% in North America, 1.7% in Europe and 2.0% in Latin America, based on third-party market data. The projections assume below mid-market paper pricing in Europe and no price increases in paper in North America.
