Qnity Electronics, DuPont's electronics business, held its inaugural investor day at the New York Stock Exchange on September 18, presenting strategic plans ahead of its planned spinoff from DuPont (NYSE: DD) targeted for November 1, 2025.
The company outlined its position in the semiconductor value chain, with two-thirds of its portfolio tied directly to semiconductors, including chip fabrication, advanced packaging and thermal management. Qnity stated its total addressable market exceeds $30 billion.
"Qnity's total addressable market exceeds $30 billion. We have a strong foundation for long-term growth, and we expect to outperform the industry by leveraging our competitively advantaged position," said Jon Kemp, chief executive officer-elect of Qnity.
The company reported relationships with technology companies representing approximately 80% of the total semiconductor market and noted that about 90% of its product portfolio consists of unit-driven consumables.
Matt Harbaugh, chief financial officer-elect for Qnity, referenced semiconductor industry revenue projections of surpassing $1 trillion around the end of the decade, citing SEMI, McKinsey & Company, and TechInsights as sources.
Qnity provided 2025 pro forma financial estimates and three-year financial objectives through 2028 during the presentation. The company expects to be listed under ticker "Q" on the NYSE following the separation.
The spinoff will not require a shareholder vote and remains subject to customary conditions including final board approval, tax opinion receipt, SEC registration statement completion, regulatory approvals and financing completion, according to the company statement.
