Noodles & Company (NASDAQ: NDLS) reported preliminary fourth quarter 2025 results showing system-wide comparable sales increased 6.6% compared to the same period in 2024, according to a company statement.
The growth was driven by a 7.3% increase at company-owned restaurants and a 3.8% increase at franchise locations during the quarter ended December 30, 2025.
As of the quarter's end, the company operated 340 company-owned restaurants and 83 franchise locations. During 2025, Noodles & Company closed 33 company-owned restaurants and nine franchise restaurants.
The company expects to close an additional 30 to 35 restaurants in 2026 as part of what it calls portfolio optimization efforts.
"Our fourth quarter results reinforce that when we concentrate our resources on restaurants with the strongest opportunity to perform, Noodles can drive meaningful top-line growth," said Joe Christina, chief executive officer and president.
The sales results are preliminary and unaudited, have not been reviewed by the company's independent registered public accountants, and remain subject to completion of normal quarter-end accounting procedures and adjustments.
Comparable restaurant sales represent year-over-year sales comparisons for restaurants open for at least 18 full periods, highlighting performance of existing locations by excluding the impact of new restaurant openings.
The Colorado-based restaurant chain has operated since 1995 and currently has more than 400 restaurants across its system.
