NextEra Energy (NYSE: NEE) confirmed its financial projections remain unchanged as senior management prepares for investor meetings throughout January 2026, according to a company filing.
The utility company expects adjusted earnings per share between $3.62 and $3.70 for 2025 and between $3.92 and $4.02 for 2026. The company targets compound annual growth in adjusted earnings per share of at least 8% annually through 2032, based on the expected 2025 range.
NextEra Energy also maintains its long-term adjusted earnings per share growth target of at least 8% through 2035, using the same 2025 baseline.
For dividends, the company expects approximately 10% annual growth through 2026 from a 2024 base, followed by approximately 6% annual growth for 2027 and 2028 from a 2026 base. The company noted dividend declarations remain subject to board discretion.
The projections assume normal weather and operating conditions, positive macroeconomic conditions in the U.S. and Florida, supportive commodity markets, and continued policy support for renewable energy development. Other assumptions include consistent rate case outcomes and no adverse litigation decisions or changes to governmental policies.
NextEra Energy stated it does not provide quantitative reconciliation of forward-looking adjusted earnings per share to GAAP earnings per share due to difficulty in forecasting certain items, including effects of non-qualifying hedges and unrealized gains and losses on equity securities in nuclear decommissioning funds.
