NIU Technologies reports 2025 sales decline amid market challenges

Niu Technologies (NASDAQ: NIU) reported total unit sales of 178,702 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2025, representing a 21% decline from 226,634 units sold in the same period of 2024, according to a company statement.

The Beijing-based electric vehicle manufacturer sold 158,782 units in China during the fourth quarter, down from 182,333 units in the prior year period. International market sales totaled 19,920 units, compared to 44,301 units in the fourth quarter of 2024.

For the full year 2025, NIU sold 1,197,978 units across all markets, an increase from 924,340 units in 2024. China market sales reached 1,112,021 units for the year, while international sales totaled 85,957 units.

The company attributed the fourth-quarter decline to seasonal weakness in China's smart urban mobility sector, front-loaded demand ahead of new electric bicycle national standards in the third quarter, and challenging year-over-year comparisons. NIU noted that its FX "Windstorm" e-motorcycle, launched in late September, became the quarter's top-selling model.

NIU manufactures electric motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, kick-scooters and e-bikes. The company stated that its sales volume figures are based on deliveries from manufacturing facilities and may differ from financial accounting measurements. The company noted that sales volume represents only one measure of financial performance and should not be used as an indicator of quarterly financial results.
