MetLife estimates Q2 2026 variable investment income below annual pace

MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET) disclosed preliminary estimates for its variable investment income for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, ahead of its scheduled earnings release on August 5, 2026.
According to the filing, the company estimates variable investment income of approximately $220 million to $270 million on a pre-tax basis for the second quarter. The company's full-year 2026 guidance stands at approximately $1.6 billion pre-tax. Variable investment income includes private equity, real estate and other funds, as well as prepayment fees.
MetLife noted that the preliminary figures are unaudited and that financial closing procedures for the quarter have not been completed. The company cautioned that actual results could differ materially from the estimates provided.
