MARA Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: MARA) produced 703 bitcoin in July 2025, representing a 1% decrease from the previous month, according to the company's operational update released August 4.
The bitcoin mining company won 207 blocks during July, a 2% month-over-month decline from 211 blocks in June. The company attributed the decrease to a 9% increase in global mining difficulty and higher hashrate following seasonal curtailment.
MARA increased its energized hashrate to 58.9 exahashes per second at the end of July, up 3% from 57.4 EH/s in June. The company's share of available miner rewards decreased to 4.9% in July from 5.4% in the prior month.
The company's bitcoin holdings reached 50,639 BTC as of July 31, 2025, including bitcoin that is loaned, actively managed or pledged as collateral. CEO Fred Thiel stated that surpassing 50,000 BTC makes MARA the second-largest publicly traded holder of bitcoin globally.
MARA reported higher than expected curtailment at its Ohio sites during July, though the company improved operational efficiency at its Wolf Hollow and Kearney facilities. The company plans to begin energizing its data center at a Texas wind farm in the second half of 2025.
As of June 30, 2025, MARA held over $5 billion in liquid assets, with nearly $1 billion raised since that date, according to the press release statement.
