LB Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: LBRX) reported third quarter 2025 financial results, showing a net loss of $3.6 million compared to $14.2 million in the same period last year.

The company completed its initial public offering in September 2025, pricing 21,850,000 shares at $15.00 per share for gross proceeds of $327.8 million. As of September 30, 2025, LB Pharmaceuticals held approximately $314.5 million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities.

Research and development expenses decreased to $2.4 million in Q3 2025 from $10.7 million in Q3 2024, primarily due to reduced clinical trial expenses related to the company's Phase 2 clinical trial of LB-102 in acute schizophrenia conducted in 2024. General and administrative expenses fell to $2.8 million from $5.4 million in the prior year period.

For the nine months ended September 30, 2025, the company reported a net loss of $13.7 million compared to $58.0 million in the same period of 2024. Research and development expenses for the nine-month period were $8.3 million, down from $50.8 million in 2024.

The company presented three posters at the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology Congress in October 2025, featuring analyses from its Phase 2 NOVA1 clinical trial of LB-102 in acute schizophrenia. A post-hoc analysis demonstrated treatment effect sizes versus placebo of 0.26 at the 50 mg dose, 0.41 at the 75 mg dose, and 0.66 at the 100 mg dose.

LB Pharmaceuticals plans to increase the sample size of its planned Phase 3 clinical trial in acute schizophrenia from approximately 400 patients to approximately 460 patients. The company expects to initiate this trial in the first quarter of 2026 and report topline data in the second half of 2027. The company also plans to initiate a Phase 2 trial in bipolar depression in the first quarter of 2026.

Based on current operating assumptions, the company anticipates its cash position will support planned operations into the second quarter of 2028. The company appointed William Kane and Rekha Hemrajani to its board of directors in September 2025, and James Rawls as Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs in October 2025.
