Hyperion DeFi Inc. (NASDAQ: HYPD) issued a letter to shareholders from Chief Executive Officer Hyunsu Jung outlining the company's transformation and strategic direction.
The company transformed from Eyenovia, an ophthalmic technology firm, to a DeFi company in June 2025. Hyperion DeFi became the first U.S. publicly listed company to hold HYPE tokens, the native token of the Hyperliquid blockchain, on its balance sheet.
Following a $50 million PIPE transaction, the company established several business initiatives. Within eight days, it created the "Kinetiq x Hyperion" validator with partners Kinetiq and Pier Two to earn staking rewards while securing the Hyperliquid network. The company also launched HiHYPE, a Liquid Staking Token, and entered a HYPE Asset Use Service agreement with trading firm Credo.
In September, the company appointed David Knox, former Head of Capital Markets at PayPal, as Chief Financial Officer. In October, it announced a partnership with Felix to launch a HIP-3 exchange, allocating 500,000 HYPE tokens to enable global trading of equities and commodities.
The company reported record third-quarter 2025 net income of $6.6 million, described as the highest in its 10-year history. In December, it partnered with Native Markets, allocating 300,000 HYPE tokens to support the USDH stablecoin incentive program.
Jung stated that Hyperliquid generated the highest protocol revenues among blockchain networks in 2025, accounting for over 30% of all blockchain fees at its peak in Q3 2025. The platform allocated approximately 97% of revenues to buying back and burning HYPE tokens, removing about 13% of the circulating supply by year-end.
The company's management team and board purchased 189,204 HYPD shares in December 2025, according to the letter. Hyperion DeFi continues to develop its Optejet medical device for ophthalmic applications alongside its DeFi operations.
