Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation (NASDAQ: HYMC) filed an updated mineral resource estimate showing 16.4 million gold ounces and 562.6 million silver ounces in measured and indicated categories, representing a 55% increase in both metals compared to previous estimates.
The company also established an initial high-grade silver resource of 90.2 million silver ounces in measured and indicated categories from two newly discovered systems called Brimstone and Vortex. These systems were found approximately 14 months ago and remain open along strike and at depth.
The updated estimate, effective January 21, 2026, incorporates results from 70 drill holes and uses commodity prices of $3,100 per ounce for gold and $36 per ounce for silver. Inferred mineral resources increased 50% for gold and 38% for silver.
Metallurgical testing demonstrated recovery rates of 83% for gold and 78% for silver using a process combining milling and pressure oxidation for sulfide mineralization and heap leaching for oxide mineralization.
The technical report was prepared by third-party consultants Ausenco Engineering USA South Inc., Independent Mining Consultants Inc., and WestLand Engineering & Environmental Services Inc. The estimate supersedes Hycroft's previous initial assessment filed in March 2023.
Hycroft operates the Hycroft Mine in northern Nevada on a land package exceeding 64,000 acres. The company previously conducted oxide heap leach operations and is working toward transitioning to milling operations for sulfide ore processing.
The company is also evaluating a roasting process alternative that could produce sulfuric acid as a by-product for sale to lithium, copper and fertilizer industries.
