Huntington Bancshares (NASDAQ: HBAN) announced earnings per share projections of $1.90 to $1.93 for fiscal year 2027, according to a company statement.
The bank outlined its path to reach these targets through several financial components. For fiscal year 2026, the company expects core earnings to contribute $0.25 to $0.28 per share, with loan growth projected at 7% to 9% and net interest margin in the mid-3.40% range. Fee income is expected to increase by more than 10%, excluding synergies.
Huntington anticipates gross synergies will add $0.05 to $0.08 per share in 2026, comprising $75 million to $100 million in incremental revenue synergies and $100 million in incremental expense synergies. The bank plans investments that will reduce earnings by $0.03 per share, while share repurchases are expected to contribute $0.03 to $0.04 per share.
For 2027, the company projects key performance metrics including an efficiency ratio of approximately 53%, operating leverage of 500 to 600 basis points, and return on tangible common equity of 18% to 19%.
The projections represent an increase from the current consensus estimate of $1.67, which the bank adjusted to $1.60 after accounting for changes to its provision for credit losses outlook.
