Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) reported that Battlefield 6 sold over 7 million copies during its first three days following launch, marking the biggest opening in the franchise's history.
The game achieved several franchise records, including the most concurrent players and highest sales figures during the initial launch period. Players engaged in over 172 million online matches and accumulated more than 15 million hours of streaming content during the three-day launch weekend.
Battlefield 6 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms including Steam, EA App, and Epic Games Store. The game is offered in a Standard Edition for $69.99 and a Phantom Edition for $99.99.
"Battlefield 6 was built with our fans," said Byron Beede, General Manager of Battlefield. "From the initial concept through to the implementation of Battlefield Labs and into the record-shattering Open Beta we have been obsessed with player feedback."
The launch follows what EA described as a record-breaking Open Beta in August. The company plans to release Season 1 content on October 28, which will include a new map called Blackwell Fields and a 4v4 multiplayer mode called Rogue Ops.
EA reported GAAP net revenue of approximately $7.5 billion in fiscal year 2025. The Battlefield franchise has accumulated over 5 billion hours played across 100 million players over its two-decade history, according to the press release statement.
