What is MMR in League of Legends?

Players are ranked from least to most skilled using a parameter called MMR. MatchMaking Rating, or MMR for short, is a system of individual skill points developed by Riot Games. It is an American game development company which created League of Legends. Only Riot games has the access to MMR which is designed to keep confidential.

What is MMR purpose?

As it is assumed that all League of Legends players have the same MMR when competing against one another, players are ranked based on their individual skill points. This is why in normal play (League of Legends games not based on an official ranking), you will almost never fall to Platinum (one of the highest ranks in League of Legends) if you have just started the game at level 30 or lower. It doesn't depend whether it is smurfing, which is a high ranked player deciding to recreate a new account, or trolling your ranked games and always coming out winner in your normal games.

Original MMR Concept:

It's noteworthy that MMR was once a chess system that was used to determine a player's level and create level equality between players by pitting a player with a high MMR against another player of the same level. In order to balance its games, other competitive games like League of Legends then democratized and copied this ranking method.

How does our MMR League Checker works?

We have compromised calculating MMR data with an accuracy of () 95% because the data is meant to be hidden by League of Legends. As a result, the sign will show up next to your MMR score when calculating your MMR, suggesting a uncertainty of around 200 points. Your true score would most likely be in the range of 1200 to 1400, even if you had a score of 1300. This data can change based on how many games you play and how well you score; the more games you win with a high score, the higher your mmr goes, and the more games you lose and finish with a low score, the lower your mmr goes. It's crucial to remember that your MMR will probably vary based on how many games you play; the more games you play, the more accurate your MMR will be.

MMR vs Ranked LP?

In the league system, you can earn or lose League Points (LP) through ranked games in addition to your MMR. If you win a game with an average MMR greater than your rank, you will receive more LPs than you lose since the league points are determined by both your MMR score and your rank's average MMR score. On the other hand, you will lose more LP if your MMR is lower than average. Please be aware that Season 3 has eliminated Riot Games' previous ranking system, known as the Elo rating.
