DCL International Marks 40 Years of Engineering Innovation

For 40 years, DCL has grown as a family business built around a belief that hard problems are worth solving, and cleaner air, better technology, and greater industry sustainability are worth pursuing. Founded in 1986 as Diesel Controls Limited, DCL began by developing emissions-control technologies for diesel vehicles operating in underground mines. Since then, the company has expanded its capabilities, geographic reach, and applications to become a global provider of advanced technologies that reduce emissions, support cleaner energy, and improve industrial efficiency.

What started with underground mining emissions has grown into a group of companies serving industries around the world, from power generation and data centers to clean fuels, aerospace, and food sustainability. Throughout its history, DCL has continued to expand its technical and manufacturing capabilities. Milestones include developing early diesel particulate filters for mining vehicles; entering stationary engine and alternative-fuel markets; expanding into catalyst coating, metal substrate manufacturing and high-temperature vacuum brazing; and advancing technologies for methane reduction, natural gas decarbonization, hydrogen electrolysis, and specialty catalyst applications.

DCL’s growth has also led to the creation and expansion of businesses within the DCL Technology Group, including Roadwarrior, GraniteFuel Engineering, and AERINOX. Together, the group’s companies apply engineering and technology to help customers reduce emissions, recover and reuse energy, transform waste streams, and operate more sustainably.
