XstraStar Launches 219-Page Bilingual Reference Library for AI Search Visibility
SINGAPORE, SG - August 15, 2026 - A growing share of technology purchases now begins inside an AI answer, with buyers taking three to five vendor names from a generated reply rather than working through a results page. For software companies selling into both English-speaking and Chinese markets, that shift has exposed a problem that did not exist before: an approach that produces results on one side is largely inert on the other.
XstraStar today opened a bilingual GEO reference library of 219 pages, published in parallel in English and Chinese. Thirty-two of those pages are platform-specific, covering citation behaviour, crawler access and tracking separately for ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Claude, Doubao and DeepSeek.

The difference is the source pool, not the language
Ask the same question of an English engine and a Chinese one and the lists of cited sources frequently have nothing in common.
On the English side, published measurement shows citations concentrating in a few source types. Semrush data from June 2025, drawn from more than 150,000 citations across 5,000 keywords, put community discussion at 40.1%, a reference encyclopaedia at 26.3% and video at 23.5% — none of them assets a brand controls directly.
The Chinese pool is composed of a different set of content platforms, and the ownership relationships matter: a Chinese AI product tends to favour content from the ecosystem that owns it. XstraStar's position is that understanding which platform belongs to which ecosystem explains more about citation behaviour on that side than any amount of on-page work.
Two consequences follow for companies operating in both markets. Distribution experience does not transfer, because the channels a team built in one market have no counterpart in the other. And translation does not enter the pool — publishing a translated version of a site in the second language does not place it among the sources cited there.
The more common failure happens before anything is read
The item XstraStar lists as the first thing to check has nothing to do with content. Many sites decide what to return based on the requesting user agent, serving prerendered HTML to a list of known search crawlers and a script-dependent shell to everything else. That list was written against the crawlers of its time, and newer AI retrieval crawlers land in the default branch and receive the shell.
Routine checks do not catch it: the page renders correctly in a browser, search rankings are unaffected, robots.txt is permissive, and analytics look normal, because front-end analytics never sees requests that do not execute JavaScript.
The company says the check is inexpensive — request the same URL under different user agents and compare whether the body copy is present, then confirm in server logs, where the signature is a 200 response with an unusually small body.
No vendor rankings in the library
The library's 100 glossary entries are written one term per page, and its 22 metric pages state for each measure what it counts, what it does not count, and what it cannot be used to prove. XstraStar noted that terms such as mention rate and share of citations are not calculated consistently across the category, which leaves buyers comparing two proposals against two different denominators without being told.
The library contains no vendor rankings, tool lists or competitor scoring. The company's stated view is that a service provider ranking itself inside its own reference material does not give a buyer usable evidence.
The English library is at xstrastar.com and the Chinese library at xingchuda.com. Both are open, require no registration, and carry revision dates on each page.
