Equities weaken Friday afternoon with major indexes hitting session lows, while VIX spiked. Today's slump was tied to Greek jitters, technical glitches on Bloomberg terminals overnight, China's new short selling rules, and lackluster US earnings.
Rumors mid-afternoon that suggested the DOJ was leaning against a Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) and Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) merger did little to lift investors' spirits, and markets pushed lower.
