U.S. Will Not Challenge State Laws on Recreational Use of Marijuana
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder told governors in Washington and Colorado that the U.S. does not plan to challenge laws legalizing recreational use of marijuana. The government plans to focus efforts on criminal prosecutions, according to statements made to Bloomberg.
Prosecutors will focus on preventing distribution to minors, keeping drugs from crossing state lines, and targeting criminal organizations.
Investors are watching for reactions in a number of off-exchange marijuana stocks.
