Investing.com -- The U.S. economy added 261,000 jobs in October, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Friday's closely watched reading is down from an upwardly revised level of 315,000 in September and above economists' expectations of 200,000.

The unemployment rate in the world's largest economy increased to 3.7%, up from 3.5% last month. Economists had predicted the figure would climb to 3.6%.
