Trump orders 50% tariff on copper imports
Investing.com -- U.S. President Donald Trump signed a proclamation on Wednesday ordering tariffs on copper imports, citing national security concerns.
The White House announced that the new measure will impose a 50% tariff on semi-finished copper products and copper-intensive derivative products.
The tariffs are set to take effect on August 1, according to a fact sheet released by the White House.
