Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) is set to recall 53,822 vehicles in the U.S. after complaints about the Full Self-Driving (Beta) feature in some of the vehicles that enable “rolling stops” but fails to complete stop at some intersections.
The recall is related to some 2016-2022 Model S and Model X, 2017-2022 Model 3, and 2020-2022 Model Y vehicles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The Full Self-Driving feature allows Tesla vehicles to drive through an all-way stop intersection without initially stopping, the NHTSA added.
The carmaker is expected to launch an over-the-air software update that disables the "rolling stop" feature free of charge.
The recall covers Model S sedans and X SUVs (2016-2022), Model 3 sedans (2017-2022), and Model Y SUVs (2020-2022).
