Microchip Technology (NASDAQ: MCHP) 4.8% LOWER; expects net sales to be approximately $258 to $259 million. The consensus $267.3 million. The company sees GAAP EPS of $0.35 ($0.38 Non-GAAP). The consensus is $0.36.

Yum! Brands Inc. (NYSE: YUM) 3.6% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.50, 5 cents better than estimates. Revenues came in at versus the consensus of $2.44 billion. Sees FY EPS growth of at least 13% (from 12%) or $1.65 per share. The consensus is $1.64. The company's board of directors today authorized the repurchase of up to an additional $1.25 billion.

China Digital TV Holding Co Ltd's (NYSE: STV) 2% HIGHER; Last Friday's IPO is up another 2% after gaining 41% intra-day on top of a 75% gain Friday.

Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S) 0.5% HIGHER; announced that Gary Forsee is stepping down as the company's chairman, president and CEO, effective immediately.

Expeditors International of Washington Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPD) INDICATED HIGHER; will replace TXU Corp. (NYSE: TXU) in the S&P 500.

Terra Industries Inc. (NYSE: TRA) INDICATED HIGHER; will replace Expeditors International in the S&P MidCap 400 after the close of trading on Tuesday, October 9.

Guess? Inc. (NYSE: GES) INDICATED HIGHER; will replace CDW Corp. (NASDAQ: CDWC) in the S&P MidCap 400 after the close of trading on a date to be announced.
