Stocks Bounce as Obama, Boehner Set 5PM Fiscal Cliff Meeting
Stocks staged an impressive rally off the lows Thursday on reports President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner will meet at 5PM ET tonight to discuss the fiscal cliff.
With the current stalemate in negotiations, the market is hopeful that the face-to-face meeting might be able to spur a compromise and future deal.
Heading into the close the Dow is down 51, the Nasdaq is down 18 and the S&P 500 is down 7, but all are well off the lows.
