Obama to deliver statement on Afghanistan at 11 a.m. EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama will deliver a statement on Afghanistan at 11 a.m. EDT on Thursday, the White House said.

Senior administration officials have said Obama plans to slow the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, a reversal of his previous policy, following recent Taliban attacks in the country.
