Obama and Economic Team Crafting $675-$775B Stimulus Package
According to sources, President-elect Obama and his economic team are currently creating a stimulus package worth $675-$775 billion with the intention of sending it to Congress. The package would take place over two years, but its final price tag could end up being larger than initial estimates. While the team is being flexible with the potential size of the package, aides have indicated that the economic team will be focused on keeping the plan under $1 trillion, as this level is a psychological barrier and could "carry political consequences", as the WSJ puts it.
