Obama Seeks to Raise Federal Minimum Wage to $10.10/Hr

President Barack Obama plans to announce at tonight's State of the Union address an executive order to raise the minimum wage for new federal contract workers.

Obama's action would raise the the federal minimum wage to $10.10 per hour for new federal contractors. He will ask the Congress to pass the Harkin-Miller bill that would increase the federal minimum wage to $10.10 per hour.

The federal minimum wage hike will likely be just one of Obama's talking point about income inequality in the U.S. in tonight's speech.
