Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is planning to encrypt internet traffic to curb NSA spying, according to reports in the Washington Post. The stepped up efforts follow recent news the NSA intercepted traffic at rivals Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) and Yahoo (Nasdaq: YHOO). Top executives at Microsoft are planning to meet this week to decide when and what encryption initiatives can be deployed, said sources.
