Michael Bloomberg Eyes 2016 White House Bid - FT
Former New York city mayor and billionaire business man, Michael Bloomberg, said for the first time he is eyeing a 2016 run for the White House, the Financial Times report.
"I find the level of discourse and discussion distressingly banal and an outrage and an insult to the voters," Bloomberg was quoted as saying. He said the U.S. public deserves "a lot better."
It is unclear if Mr. Bloomberg would run as a Republican, Democrat or Independent. He is considered to have liberal views on social issues and gun control but is a fiscal conservative.
An entry by Mr. Bloomberg would likely shake-up the Presidential race, which is already one of the strangest in history with bombastic businessman Donald Trump leading the Republican field and socialist Bernie Sanders holding a slight lead over Hilary Clinton on the Democratic side.
